Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Shift pre-start-up check and safety checks are done on all lift trucks
  • Shift pre-start-up check and safety checks are done on both cranes
  • Check that all presses are loaded and pre-staged for current job as per ShopEdge
  • Check that assembly area is staged for production
  • Pre stage coils for current and next job as per shop edge
  • Replace lubricant when needed for pro mix station
  • Assist in press set-ups:
    • Gather coils, bins & dies
    • Load coils
    • Thread coils
  • Assist operators to increase “up time” on presses
    • Pre-stage scrap and parts bins at machines
    • Move and weigh parts bins
    • Dump scrap bins
    • All duties to be performed in a fashion to prevent machine downtime
  • Assist Shipper / Receiver
    • Gather/move raw materials and finished products for organized storage
    • Gather and package orders
    • Unload/load trucks
  • Plant wide house-keeping duties as required
    • Empty garbage cans
    • Maintain a clean lift truck
    • Washing floors
    • Clean under containers when moved
  • Maintain and follow all pertinent quality-system procedures
  • Occasional errands and other duties as assigned by Production Supervisor
    • Clean plant aisle ways, storage areas
    • Keep plant aisle ways clear

Qualifications

  • Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Must have a valid fork truck license
  • Ability to operate forklift/tow motor safely and independently
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Mechanically inclined and good problem solving/communication skills
